Consumer foodservice grows with strength despite economic concerns
Amidst the weakening purchasing power and drastic changes in consumer eating patterns, consumer foodservice grew positively in 2005. Its greatestvalue growth occurred towards the end of the year. The burgeoning call to convenience was brought about by the increasing number of working mothers, and longer working hours. An urge for food variation significantly contributed to more prevalent eating out patterns in this consumer stratum. Consequently, the active expansion of shopping malls paved the way to additional outlets being opened in 2005.
